Community Access Specialists provide telephone and face-to-face screening to determine whether or not we have the services which are appropriate for the inquiring individual's or family's needs, as well as whether or not their medical insurance covers our care. The specialists can also refer people to other community resources which may be better tailored to their situation and needs than ours. Access Specialists screen and triage calls from all populations. The primary goal of all Community Access Department units is to facilitate access to the appropriate level of services, whether those services are at Navos or elsewhere in the community. Our Financial Benefits Liaison works directly with adult clients to help them obtain and maintain eligibility for State and Federal entitlement programs which include mental health benefits. Intake Specialists perform clinical intakes and assessments to enroll adult clients into agency services. To schedule an appointment, call the Community Access Department at TO ACCESS CRISIS SERVICES For adults already enrolled in our services who need crisis help after hours, call: 206-248-8227 For children already enrolled in our services who need crisis help after hours, For adults not already enrolled in our services we provide crisis stabilization services to adults in crisis, at risk of psychiatric hospitalization, or for whom a mental disorder cannot be ruled out. Services provided include assessment, crisis intervention, emergency psychiatric services, outreach, crisis stabilization and linkage to ongoing care. This service provides a necessary safety net to the many individuals who, for whatever reason, have not accessed ongoing treatment, yet find themselves in crisis and in need of immediate services. The primary goal of the Adult Crisis Service is to divert unnecessary psychiatric hospitalizations while connecting individuals to the most appropriate level of ongoing care. Clients often express gratitude just knowing there was "someone there to listen and who cared" in their time of need. Others go on to pursue counseling, psychiatric services, chemical dependency treatment, family support and many other supportive care alternatives. We are able to serve two or three people assigned to see us by workers from the previous nights Crisis Line calls.
